They had him executed. Remember even when he was 12 they kept asking him how he learned what he knew, who taught him??? The Seal of Anubis is a minor artefact and a key found in both the original Tomb Raider and its remake Tomb Raider Anniversary.

It is found in the first Tomb Raider, in the level Obelisk of Khamoon and in the level Egypt - Obelisk of Khamoon in Tomb Raider Anniversary. The seal is in both games one of the four objects required to be placed in the obelisk, opening the door to the next level.
